Modern Slavery Statement

This statement is made in accordance with section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out Tampa Housing Ltd’s human trafficking and slavery statement for the financial year ending 31st August 2024.

Tampa Housing Ltd is committed to conducting its business with integrity and adhering to the highest ethical standards. We continuously review our operating procedures to prevent any practices related to human trafficking and modern slavery within our organisation and supply chains.

Our Commitment

We are dedicated to implementing ethical policies, contracts, and partnerships that prevent modern slavery within our business and commercial arrangements. In 2024, we will be enhancing our procurement processes by:

  • Implementing a new policy addressing modern slavery concerns.
  • Introducing a code of conduct for all suppliers.
  • Updating terms and conditions for all suppliers to ensure compliance with ethical standards.

We strive to maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct among all colleagues. Our expectations are clearly outlined in policies including, but not limited to:

  • Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy
  • Bullying and Harassment Policy
  • Equality and Diversity Policy
  • Disciplinary Policy

Furthermore, we have a robust Whistleblowing (Protected Disclosure) Policy that encourages employees to report unethical practices. We ensure that all concerns are taken seriously and handled appropriately, providing a safe environment where individuals can voice issues with confidence.

Recruitment and Safeguarding

As part of our commitment to ethical employment practices, we conduct rigorous pre-employment and recruitment checks, including:

  • Verification of an applicant’s right to work in the UK.
  • Comprehensive background checks to ensure suitability for roles.
  • Ensuring all supply agencies we work with adhere to statutory safeguarding checks.

We continuously monitor and audit our recruitment processes, implementing ongoing training to maintain and improve safeguarding standards.

Due Diligence and Risk Assessment

Through our corporate governance framework, we assess and address potential human rights impacts by:

  • Conducting due diligence on our supply chains and commercial relationships.
  • Taking proportionate action based on identified risks.
  • Regularly reviewing and improving our policies and procedures.
